Renewable Energy Benalla is working in collaboration with the community and relevant organisations to achieve the following objectives:
As well as these major objectives Renewable Energy Benalla has developed Action Plans which identify key tasks to be achieved and the members who are to undertake the tasks. The Renewable Energy Action Group makes regular reports to the community. Beyond Zero Emissions Support Benalla was selected as one of the three Victorian communities to be part of the Beyond Zero Emissions Zero Carbon Communities Project. Beyond Zero Emissions supported Benalla to develop a 10 year 100% Renewable Stationary Energy Transition Strategy in the energy use and building sectors. Key steps for REB identified on page 10 of the report have shaped the themes pursued by Renewable Energy Benalla and on this website - ie: Transition Strategy Purpose
The purpose of transition planning is to layout the tasks and activities that need to take place to achieve the objective of Benalla becoming a zero net energy town in relation to stationary energy.
